Nobody likes to be kept waiting. Unfortunately though, waiting periods are vital for all health insurance funds. They protect us (and you) against people who join our health fund only to make large claims and leave.
No unnecessary waiting periods.
We always try to keep waiting periods to an absolute minimum. And to prove the point, if you’re joining us from another health fund, we’ll take your previous membership into account. That means you don’t have to re-serve waiting periods on an equivalent level of cover.
But wait! The good news doesn't stop there because if you take out one of our great value ancillary cover options, we'll also waive all 2 month waiting periods. That means that once you're a member, you can start claiming straight away on popular services like general dental, optical, chiro, physio, pharmacy, complementary therapies, and healthy lifestyle services.
Switching to HIF? Allow us to take care of the paperwork too.
If you are switching from another fund, we’ll take care of all your paperwork. We’ll even request a clearance certificate from your previous fund (as proof of the waiting periods you’ve already served). Simply give us your authorisation by completing a Switching Funds form and we’ll take care of the rest.
