Quick and Easy Meals for Winter

Does winter = weight gain? Not necessarily… According to Susie: “Finding the right balance between warming winter meals and other over consuming stodgy, high fat foods can be challenging, but it is by no means impossible. We must be exceptionally mindful of poor habits that we often permit into our lives as soon as day light saving ends. Long evenings spent on the sofa with heavy food and a block of chocolate are generally not justified.” In this post, Susie explains why bulking up meals with plenty of vegetables is a good starting point, and also offers her advice on the most effective nutritional strategies to implement in order to prevent winter weight gain.

    Immune Boost

Ever heard the term “Survival of the fittest”? According to Susie: “This can take on a whole new meaning once the temperature drops, and the number of people suffering from bugs and flu increases!” So why do some people get sick, while others don’t? Susie’s advice: “A common mistake people make with their diets (that results in a poorly functioning immune system) is eating very well some of the time, while letting it go at other times. It is during these periods that you’re not eating the range of foods needed to give the body the key nutrients it needs to repair and regenerate damaged cells.”  In this post, Susie explains the important role our immune system plays, and offers her advice on the top flu-fighting foods we should all incorporate into our everyday diet.
