Hi Susie, I listen to you on 2GB & love your segment. I would like to know your suggestions for a protein powder drink - I am currently tying Isobey. I have a slender build but with some medication I have put on 5kg and & my weight goes to the stomach. I am walking & doing situps but my body doesn’t seem to be doing anything. I have bought zovitin & hope that it will help. I am 60 and look after myself. Some of the proteins shake have a lot of sodium or carbs, so which one would you suggest? Regards Patsy
I am so pleased that you enjoy the segment on 2GB, we are working hard to make it fun and interesting each week. There are many different protein powders on the market so it is confusing to work out which one will be best for you.
To help with weight control, you have 2 options. One is to try a meal replacement shake such as Isowhey, Celebrity Slim or Coles Simply Less - these options can be mixed with water, contain similar amounts of carbohydrates and proteins as a regular meal but with just 200 calories.
The second option is to use a whey based protein powder. This is essentially concentrated milk protein and can be mixed with milk and some fruit to give a breakfast style shake. I usually get pretty good results using a meal replacement for breakfast for a few weeks so maybe that is a good place to start. Let me know how you go.
