Beef and Snow Pea Stir-Fry


This blend of stir fried beef and snow peas in an oyster and garlic sauce is a great combination for a quick and easy meal. If you need some inspiration for dinner this evening, why not give it a go?   • 500g lean rump steak
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower or rice bran oil
  • 250g (2 cups) snow peas (mangetout)
  • 2 large carrots, thinly sliced on the diagonal
  • 2 medium red capsicums (peppers), cut into chunks
  • 80 ml oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • steamed brown rice to serve


  1. Rub the beef all over with the sugar and half the oil.
  2. Cut into thin strips. 
  3. Heat a wok and lightly stir-fry the beef and remove to a plate.
  4. Heat the remaining oil in the wok.
  5. Quickly stir-fry the vegetables in the oyster sauce and soy sauce until just tender but still crisp.
  6. Return the beef to the wok.
  7. Toss until well combined and heated through.
  8. Serve immediately, with steamed brown rice.
