Healthy Lifestyle Cover

It goes without saying, we want you to stay healthy. It’s good for you, but it’s also good for all our members. Healthy members make fewer claims, and fewer claims mean better benefits and lower premiums. Everyone wins. And that’s the inspiration behind our Healthy Lifestyle Benefits.

With Healthy Lifestyle Benefits, you can claim a benefit to help you stay healthy – a benefit you can spend on your choice of HIF-recognised health management-related programs, memberships, activities or assessments. These include:

Weight management programs
Please note: Benefits are not available for optional materials such as shakers or foodstuffs. Benefits are payable on weight-loss programs when undertaken in person. Benefits are not payable on online program purchases, with the exception of Michelle Bridges 12 WBT and Susie Burrell’s Shape Me.

For weight management program claims please ask your instructor or referring GP to complete HIF's health management form and return a copy to us along with your membership invoice when submitting your claim.

Gym membership: You can claim a Healthy Lifestyle benefit on gym membership as long as your gym is approved by HIF and you provide evidence that the membership forms part of a personal health management plan. To do so, please ask your personal trainer or referring GP to complete HIF's health management form and return a copy to us along with your gym membership invoice.

Yoga and pilates: You can claim a Healthy Lifestyle benefit on yoga and pilates classes undertaken as part of a health management program at a gym or with an instructor who is currently approved by HIF.

Exercise physiologists: Any qualified exercise physiologist with a Medicare provider number

Skin cancer screenings: Any HIF-recognised provider (benefits are not available where the service is eligible for a Medicare rebate)
