The best advice I would give future leaders and prosperous managers in our industry is to not believe in the saying “customers are always right” but instead believe in “customers come first.” Customer service starts with your team, so treat your team right and they will treat your customer’s right.
One of my most favourite sayings is by the late Steve Jobs; “don’t look at another company and try and do things better, be different”. Lead the point of difference and celebrate change and your people, always.
Not many people know this, but outside of HIF I am a big advocate for saving the bees. I spend my time working on my garden, planting flowers and I'm working towards having a bee farm. Apart from that I like spending time with family or booking my next holiday – oh and of course Netflix.
I am really excited to be a key contributor in the next chapter for HIF. We have already started working towards more programmes to increase our ability to provide excelled customer service; next is our online journey which is going to be huge as we head towards being more digital for our members!
A lot of people ask me “Why HIF?” and I ask them “Why not HIF?” It’s hard to not find a reason; we are not for profit, I have an amazing team and fantastic peers, we care and put members first and well, our morning teas are famous #missmaud – we celebrate our achievements!"
