In a first of its kind national partnership, Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) has joined forces with WA’s peak medical body, the Australian Medical Association WA (AMA (WA)), in a bid to increase accessibility of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) for members across the country.

As part of an exclusive promotion starting on Friday 25 February, HIF members will be able to directly purchase RATs at a discounted price via the Australian Medical Association WA website and using the Promo Code: HIFRATSAVE20. The tests are available in packs of five and cost only $40 (+GST) for each pack – that’s a 20 per cent discount on RRP. Details on how to order can be found on our Rapid Antigen Tests webpage

This national partnership takes a member first approach, creating direct access to RATs for all HIF members.

The program will be communicated to members through HIF’s website, social media channels and SmartHealth newsletter, providing them with a unique link to the AMA (WA) website, where they can access HIF member priced RATs.

Supply will be continuously monitored by the AMA (WA), providing ongoing communication for members as stock levels change.

HIF Chief Executive Officer Justin James said he was looking forward to working with the AMA (WA) to increase accessibility for members at a fair price.

“As COVID-19 case numbers continue to ebb and flow across the country, our goal is to make it as easy as possible for members to access the necessary supplies. The more avenues we can provide, the easier it will be for members to get a hold of these important tests,” he said.

“We take a member first approach in all that we do, and that includes finding helpful ways to assist our members in navigating the pandemic with great partners like the AMA (WA).”

AMA (WA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Bennie Ng said the organisation is very pleased to be a part of the initiative and proactively helping HIF members to respond to COVID-19.

“It’s great to be working with HIF to increase accessibility of much needed COVID-19 supplies. We feel this will be crucial when WA’s case load increases, providing an easily accessible option for members to obtain these tests.”
