Tax time is approaching, and with it comes a few important updates to how your private health insurance is calculated, particularly when it comes to the Australian Government Rebate and the Medicare Levy Surcharge (MLS). 

HIF is proud to announce it has been awarded the WeMoney Health Insurance Award for Best Specialist Cover 2026, recognising the fund’s outstanding performance in delivering value and quality healthcare coverage for its members.

Every year, like all Australian health funds, HIF reviews our premiums, and the Minister for Health, Disability and Ageing approves these changes to ensure we can cover the rising costs of quality healthcare for members. The new premium will come into effect on 1 April.
