HIF supports New South Wales and Queensland Flood Affected Members

HIF Australia

As a not-for-profit health fund focussed on its members, HIF recognises the extraordinary impact the flooding over east has brought to devastated communities in parts of Queensland and New South Wales this month.

That’s why, in response to the unfolding disaster, we are offering support to our members in affected regions.

HIF is offering all members:

  1. Mental Health Navigator support.
  2. The option of suspending policy for those in need.

HIF has also pledged $25,000 to GIVIT to support our members and the broader community on the ground and where needed. GIVIT is the smart way to give to people and communities recovering from an emergency or disaster. Donations made via GIVIT provide critical and immediate support. They are there for the long run supporting people as they re-establish homes and as communities recover.

HIF CEO Justin James said, "Flooding not only causes damage to people’s properties but has a huge impact on the health and wellbeing of communities, causing emotional distress, injury and loss of life. What is happening in New South Wales and Queensland is simply devastating. Our head office may be thousands of kilometres away in Perth but we can feel the impact this disaster has had on more than 7,000 of our members over east. We want our members in New South Wales and Queensland to know we are thinking of them at this difficult time and that HIF is here to help.”
